L. WilliamsCharlotte L. Williams is the director of the Center on Community Philanthropy at the Clinton School. The center is dedicated to expanding the knowledge, tools and practice of community-spawned and community-driven philanthropy. Williams joins the Clinton School from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) where she served as the director of policy research and faculty training. She is also completing final requirements toward a doctorate in public health research. Williams is responsible for launching the Center on Community Philanthropy, focusing on developing partnerships within communities and organizations interested in implementing programs with a community philanthropy focus. This launch was established by a $300,000 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, announced in March.

A business administration graduate from Howard University in Washington, D.C., Williams earned her master’s degree in public health from the UAMS College of Public Health. In her academic research experience, she has extensively studied and published papers on mentoring of minority faculty and professionals in medical centers. She is volunteer project coordinator for the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr., Commission, a board member for the senior services organization CareLink, and a volunteer staff assistant to the Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus.
