Marie Lindquist
Marie Lindquist serves as director of field service education at the Clinton School, responsible for coordinating and evaluating field projects in the Master of Public Service degree program. With 30 percent of the Clinton School’s curriculum completed through “hands-on” field work, Lindquist works with students to facilitate and manage Practicum (group) and Capstone (individual) projects. She will also focuses on further incorporating classroom curriculum into the field projects.
Prior to joining the Clinton School faculty in August 2008, Lindquist spent 9 years at
Rhodes College where she worked her way up from director of student orientation and
leadership programs to director of leadership programs and finally to associate dean of
students where she’s served since June of 2006. During her Rhodes tenure, Lindquist
provided leadership training and advisement for the college’s Burch Scholars/Rhodes
Service Scholars Program, which seeks to link classroom learning with local community
service projects. She was also instrumental in the founding of the college’s Summer
Service Fellowship program, a core component of the Center for Academic Research and
Education through Service at Rhodes.
Lindquist earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at Simpson College
in Indianola, Iowa and a master’s in Education from Southern Illinois University at
Carbondale (SIUC). Prior to her work at Rhodes, she served as associate director of student
life at Cornell College after completing a graduate assistantship in student development
at SIUC.
