Volunteer to See

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Clinton School student Nicholas Hall has an idea — combine his loves for travel and public service to create a new nonprofit. Volunteer to See would give people the opportunity to travel places and complete service projects where they go. Nique and his idea are the subject of a feature story from the Associated Press:

In his travels to 49 states, Nicholas Hall has been inspired by both the similarities and the diversity of the national landscape.

“It’s not until you really try and see the country that you start to notice all the wonderful similarities, but also the similar disparities,” Hall said. “But that’s good. We can relate to each other more than we think.”

Hall has decided to take his passion for travel and try to draw people together through volunteerism – an ideal that was born from his adventures. And in the process, maybe he will see the final state: Alaska.

Hall, 27, is a student at the Clinton School of Public Service, and is in the process of starting the nonprofit organization Volunteer to See. The organization would combine vacations with service opportunities – two passions that have taken him across the nation three times on shoestring budgets.
