Author Ari Berman will discuss his book, “Herding Donkeys: The Fight to Rebuild the Democratic Party and Reshape American Politics,” which recounts the story of a grassroots resurgence that took the Democratic Party from the minority in 2004 to controlling both houses of Congress and the White House by 2008.
Berman chronicles the story of Howard Dean’s resurgence from a short-lived presidential candidacy in 2004 to leading the Democrats to victory in 2006 as party chair. Berman is a contributing writer for The Nation magazine and an Investigative Journalism Fellow at The Nation Institute.
