Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – NBC Nightly News paid a visit to the Clinton School today to sit down with Beatrice Biira of “Beatrice’s Goat” and Heifer International fame. If you don’t know Beatrice’s story by now, she was brought out of poverty in her home of Uganda with the help of a goat which was given to her family through Heifer Interntional’s renowned program. Her family sold the goat’s milk and were able to pay for Beatrice to attend school. She went on to graduate from Connecticut College before coming to the Clinton School to work on her master’s degree. Author Page McBrier wrote the bestselling children’s book “Beatrice’s Goat” about Beatrice’s amazing story.
The segment with Beatrice will air on an upcoming Friday night during the regular “Making a Difference” segment. She chatted with NBC about her life since the book was released when she was 16-years-old.
