CGI U Article Highlights Student

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Fourteen Clinton School students have returned from CGI U in New Orleans. Reports from the event have been good. We missed this article from the Associated Press on Friday that highlighted a commitment from Clinton School student Hunter Riley to start and supply equipment to youth soccer teams in Cameroon. Hunter’s commitment is mentioned in the introduction of an interview with President Clinton about the CGI U conference. Click here to read the story. Here’s the excerpt that includes Hunter’s project:

CGI U is focusing on projects in four main areas: energy and climate change; human rights and peace; global health; and poverty alleviation.

Among the 700 or so students who have already committed to projects are a Swarthmore College student working on water quality in Venezuela; a University of Arkansas student creating soccer teams in for teenagers in Cameroon; and a University of Alabama student working with the campus bookstore to move from plastic to canvas and mesh bags.
