The city of Little Rock is raising the bar for keeping the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive. It’s being done through a commitment to community service locally and around the world. Here’s how one group is using its time to support the legacy of Dr. King.

“To live in such a close knit community means that we have responsibilities to one another,” says Clinton School of Public Service student Fernando Cutz. He believes upholding that responsibility means giving of ourselves to help others, which is what the school’s director, Dr. Charlotte Williams says is the reason why they exist. She explains, “We teach that community philanthropy is the giving of time, talent and treasure. That when it’s invested locally, it’s the characteristic of positive change and lasting development.”
