Ralph Bray, a 2023 graduate of the Clinton School of Public Service, helped create a mentoring program for Northwest Arkansas high school students as part of his final Capstone project.
Along with members of his concurrent MBA cohort at the Walton College of Business, Bray developed the mentoring program for students – many of which are Hispanic or Marshallese – in the Business and Information Technology Academy at Springdale High School.
The program is run and staffed by MBA students. It focuses on tangible results, helping young people network, develop creative and critical thinking skills, and foster ties in the community.
The program also creates a talent pipeline for Northwest Arkansas, as corporations in the region have indicated a need to train and hire more local, diverse talent.
Bray’s Capstone is focused on ensuring that the mentoring program continues with Springdale High School’s students by developing an evaluation toolkit and logic model that will help guide future MBA leaders who direct the program.
The Clinton School Impact Minute is a recurring segment with Little Rock Public Radio, highlighting the Clinton School’s field service impact in Arkansas.
Since 2004, Clinton School students have completed more than 600 field service projects with nearly 300 organizations in Arkansas alone, creating immediate and long-term impact for businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies across the state.
