Clinton School to Offer HyFlex Version of MPS for Fall Semester

The University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service will offer a HyFlex version of its Master of Public Service degree program this fall that includes real-time, in-person classroom experiences, social distancing, and online course engagement.

Classes will be live streamed and recorded in the event a student or students are prevented from attending. The Clinton School will continue to follow local, state, and federal guidelines as well as advice from public health experts to implement the safest possible environment.

Among the procedures that that will be implemented for the fall semester include:

• The Clinton School will require all students, staff, and faculty to wear face masks while in classrooms or in public areas of our campus

• Will follow sanitization protocols for classroom spaces before each class session

• Will have assigned seating to accommodate social distancing in class and assist in contact tracing should it be necessary

• Will limit the amount of time spent on campus and indoors by only holding in-person, indoor classes for 1.5 hours, three times each week; restricting studying or group work in Clinton School spaces; and ending in-person instruction by Thanksgiving with final exams conducted remotely the following week

More information will be communicated to students in the weeks leading up to the start of the fall semester.

Throughout the semester, the school will stress to its students the importance of social distancing and following safety guidelines in their personal lives. All students will be encouraged to follow the health protocols and procedures announced by the CDC, including avoiding large groups, wearing face masks in public spaces, washing your hands or using hand sanitizer regularly, etc.
