Nearly 400 people gathered last night to hear the chairman of Harvard Medical School’s Department of Global Health and Social Medicine and subject of the national bestseller “Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Could Cure the World.”
There have been media reports indicating Farmer is in consideration for a senior role in the Obama Administration. Last night’s lecture centered on the importance of having a results driven agenda when it comes to tackling big issues like global health. This philosophy is closely aligned to the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service degree program with thirty percent of our curriculum consisting of hands-on public service projects — applying practice to theory.
