Posted by ERIC WILSON – The Clinton School is saddened to hear that Millard Fuller, founder of Habitat for Humanity International, “died early this morning after a brief illness” according to the statement. He was 74.
Fuller spoke at the Clinton School in September 2008 to discuss the elimination of poverty housing and the establishment of The Fuller Center for Housing. You can watch it HERE.
In 1996, President Clinton awarded Fuller the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, calling Habitat “the most successful continuous community service project in the history of the United States.” Fuller’s efforts led to the development of over 300,000 houses, providing shelter for more than 1.5 million people. The Clinton School honors his extraordinary service.
