Graduate Appointed to Pollution Panel

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe has appointed Clinton School graduate J.D. Lowery (’09) to the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission, the state’s environmental policy-making body. Lowery currently works for Viridian USA, a sustainable building consulting firm in Central Arkansas.

A native of Maumelle, Ark., and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Lowery worked on several environmental projects while at the Clinton School.

He traveled to Melbourne, Australia to complete his International Public Service Project with the Clinton Climate Initiative and worked on environmental policy for Beebe’s office during the state’s 2009 legislative session. He also helped launch a sustainable building partnership between the Clinton Foundation and the State of Arkansas.

Congrats to J.D. for this distinguished appointment.
