IPSP Update: Students Run Half Marathon in East Timor

Clinton School students Andrew Morgan and Erin Stock sent us an update from Southeast Asia where they are completing their International Public Service Projects.

The two students ran along with nearly 5,000 other participants in the Dili Marathon for Peace in Dili, East Timor. Before completing the half-marathon, they had the opportunity to meet Dili Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao.

They each wore hats representing Search for Common Ground, their partner organization for the IPSP.

Morgan is working in East Timor to develop internal best practices on reporting for the Search for Common Ground’s Radio for Peacebuilding initiative, which works to increase the knowledge and skills of youth radio broadcasters in covering conflicts.

Stock is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, where she is working with Search for Common Ground Indonesia to improve the organization’s quarterly donor reporting process.
