Carter Awarded REEA Community Service Award

Second-year student Carl Carter has been announced as the recipient of the 2019 Community Service Award from the Real Estate Educators of America. The award recognizes an individual who exhibits an exceptional spirit of service to others.

“They were very kind to recognize my efforts with the Beverly Carter Foundation,” Carter said.

Carter is the founder of the Beverly Carter Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving agent safety. His mother, realtor Beverly Carter, lost her life at the hands of two people posing as clients in 2014. Carter has since dedicated as much time as possible to spreading the message of safety, traveling across the United States speaking to escrow agents, lenders, agents and brokers about how to avoid becoming victims of crime and how to protect their clients as well.

The Beverly Carter Foundation’s efforts to realize its mission include programs for improving safety, educational resources, instructor-led training and certification programs, safety seminars and certification events, technology support, victim support and advocacy, and agent safety legislation.
