Student Reports Help Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation

Clinton School student Latonya Wilson has produced two reports to help the Arkansas-based Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation increase its capacity and measure the success of its programs.

Wilson partnered with the foundation for her final project in the Clinton School Master of Public Service degree program. The foundation funds projects related to reducing poverty, increasing graduation rates and strengthening local communities.

Wilson researched best practices, conducted interviews with local and national foundations, and met grantees of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation to gain information for her reports.

Wilson produced the “GOALS Pilot and Recommendations Report,” which contains information about the applicability and user-friendliness of the foundation’s outcome assessment tool. The document outlines the process, key findings and the assessment practices of similar foundations across the country.

She also produced the “Defining and Capturing Leverage at the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation Report,” which provided the foundation with a definition of leverage and a system for collecting leverage data. The plan will help the foundation capture and measure the impact of its programs.

“Gathering pertinent information for this project was crucial to its success,” Wilson said. “The feedback from other foundations and grantees demonstrated WRF’s commitment to being responsible stewards and making a difference in the state of Arkansas.”

Wilson will graduate from the Clinton School in May.
