Students Raise Funds for AR Children’s Hospital

For the third consecutive year, Clinton School students helped raise funds for Arkansas Children’s Hospital through Committee for the Future’s phone-a-thon.

Volunteers worked in teams to call previous hospital donors to renew their pledges or help behind the scenes with entering data. This year, Clinton School students raised almost $3,000 toward Committee for the Future’s $165,000 goal and were the top-grossing team on the night.

Proceeds from the event will be put toward the hospital’s new south wing expansion, which will include a new emergency department, expanded clinic space and other services to help the hospital meet the needs of its young patients.

Committee for the Future is an organization of young professionals who raise friends and funds of the hospital with a variety of events each year, including the phone-a-thon, the Miracle Chasers Triathlon, the Golf Classic, and Breakfast with Santa.

Dean Skip Rutherford was a founding member of Committee for the Future, and Clinton School student Anna Strong serves as the organization’s current president.

Students participating in the 2011 phone-a-thon included Becca Swearingen, David Monteith, Judy Watts, Ben Kaufman, Julie Meyer, Spencer Lucker and Molly McGowan along with Strong and her husband Aaron.
