Kurien Thomas, a second-year Clinton School Online student, has been selected as a Youth Ambassador for the USA Pavilion at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan.
The World Expo is a six-month global event that brings together over 160 countries to showcase innovation, culture, and diplomacy. The Youth Ambassadors primary role is to be the “Faces of America”— welcoming and guiding visitors through the USA Pavilion, sharing insights on exhibits, ensuring guest safety, and engaging in cultural exchange.
Beyond pavilion duties, Thomas and the other Youth Ambassadors will have opportunities to attend networking events, collaborate with international delegates, and participate in service projects throughout Japan.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and Sister Cities International, this program carries a long-standing tradition dating back to the 1950s, offering young Americans a unique platform for public diplomacy and global engagement.
“It’s truly an honor to be part of such an impactful initiative,” Thomas said. “I look forward to sharing this experience with the Clinton School community.”
Thomas, who is bilingual in Spanish and Malayalam and is learning elementary Japanese, earned his bachelor’s degree in public policy leadership from the University of Virginia. He is an agile delivery leader for IBM and produces and hosts his own behavioral health podcast, SeroTunein. Additionally, Thomas is currently a Global Youth Advocate representing Junior Achievement USA.
