Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Work has begun on a 9-acre wetland park on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Center, also home to the Clinton School’s main campus.
Clinton School students, faculty and staff will be among the many who will enjoy the wetlands area, which will include a boardwalk, education pavilion and observation deck.
The$2 million wetlands project along the Arkansas River will be named in honor of the late William E. Clark, the Little Rock contractor whose firm CDI built the Clinton Presidential Center. Clark died of cancer in 2007.
Spearheaded by Little Rock city director Dean Kumpuris, the wetlands project is near full funding thanks to more than $1 million in private gifts and another $300,000 in federal stimulus funds.
