Clinton School Impact Minute: 501c3 Conference

Reggie Ballard, a 2018 graduate of the Clinton School of Public Service, began working with Dana Dossett, Director of Community Programs at the City of Little Rock, in 2017. The two set out to produce a conference that would create a collaborative space for nonprofit organizations in Central Arkansas.

Together, their work led to the 501c3 Conference – an event that offers nonprofit business professionals and public service leaders an opportunity to network, grow, reenergize, and redefine how they view themselves as professionals.

The conference would feature discussions and sessions such as “Transform From Non-Profit Into For-Purpose” and “Rock Talk: Capitalize the 6 Forms of CAPITAL,” putting a focus on the types of capital required to build a lasting nonprofit: social, intellectual, human, natural, material, and financial capital.

The conference has grown from Ballard’s Capstone which sought to build capacity for Central Arkansas nonprofit organizations, to including for-profit businesses and clients from around the state.

The Clinton School Impact Minute is a recurring segment with Little Rock Public Radio, highlighting the Clinton School’s field service impact in Arkansas.

Since 2004, Clinton School students have completed more than 600 field service projects with nearly 300 organizations in Arkansas alone, creating immediate and long-term impact for businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies across the state.
