Making a Difference

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Clinton School students Alejandro Aviles, Kohl Fallin and Chad Williamson scored a major success this week with their Practicum project when U.S. Senator Mark Pryor used some of their work in a speech on the Senate floor.

In partnership with Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, the students have canvassed the state gathering stories about about the effectiveness of ARKids First, the Arkansas children’s health insurance program. Senator Pryor told one of these stories, about a child from Poyen, Ark., who received successful treatment for hearing difficulties because of his enrollment in the program. Pryor was speaking in favor of new funding for the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, of which ARKids First is a part. CLICK HERE for video of Pryor’s speech.
