Fundraiser a Big Success

Posted by DEAN SKIP RUTHERFORD – Our second annual scholarship luncheon was a big success netting over $85,000.  Clinton School student Beatrice Biira was the featured speaker and talked about her experiences growing up in Uganda. When she concluded, she received a standing ovation from the large crowd in attendance. Her story is the subject of the best selling children’s book “Beatrice’s Goat,” and she signed over 150 copies following the event.

Among those in attendance were Arkansas First Lady Ginger Beebe, University of Arkansas President Dr. Alan Sugg and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola.

Kudos to Eric Wilson, the Clinton School’s director of development, for his work in making the day a big success.
Thanks also to Nikolai DiPippa, deputy director of public programs, for coordinating the staging and logistics.

The $85,000 plus raised will provide much needed scholarships for our students.
