Posted by DEAN SKIP RUTHERFORD – Our thoughts are with families and communities in Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky who were devastated by last night’s tornadoes.
We’ve been in touch with the Mayor of Clinton (AR), the Mayor’s office in Atkins (AR) and with the Chamber of Commerce in Jackson, Tenn., (home of Union University) to offer our assistance. We’ve also communicated with Governor Mike Beebe’s office and the American Red Cross. This Friday night at our public program featuring ABC journalist Bob Woodruff we will seek donations for Red Cross tornado disaster relief funds and also to assist our recent graduate, Wambui Ngugi from Nairobi, Kenya, who is helping with relief efforts in her home country.
The Clinton School is the nation’s first to offer a Master in Public Service (MPS) and many of our students are experienced in recovery and relief efforts.
