Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – The Class of 2009 enjoyed a reunion of sorts Thursday night as they prepare for their Saturday graduations. With many members completing final Capstone projects all across the country and the world, they gathered back in Little Rock one last time to celebrate their accomplishments.
Faculty, staff, family, friends and guests came together to celebrate the class. Sanford Johnson, a Mississippi native and former teacher turned policy advocate was chosen by his classmates to give remarks along with associate professor Christy Standerfer.
In a comical twist, both the students and the school received interesting gifts. In honor of the work the school has done with Arkansas DeltaMade, the students were each given a piece of Miller’s Mud Mill pottery made by Gale Miller in Dumas. The theme continued when student representatives Sarah Argue and Sara Hemilfarb presented the 2009 class gift: a specially commissioned piece of pottery from where else? – Miller’s Mud Mill.
