Aibel Launches Up Next Destinations

Clinton School graduate Jordan Aibel (‘13) has launched Up Next Destinations, a boutique travel services company specializing in independent international travel. The business was founded in November 2018 and officially launched in July.

“I’ve wanted to build a business from the ground-up ever since I worked with an early-stage startup in college,” Aibel said. “After spending the first decade of my career supporting entrepreneurs in one capacity or another, I decided last spring that the timing was right for me to try.”

Up Next specializes in planning and booking fully customized trips, matching customers’ preferences and aspirations with with specific experiences, accommodations, dining options, and more. Up Next is able to handle all of the logistics and bookings for the trips. For travelers who prefer to plan and book for themselves, Up Next offers detailed travel guides.

“Given my passion for and experience with travel, I’ve long known that it was the right industry for me to build a career in,” Aibel said. “Up Next Destinations’ offering and business model has evolved, and will continue to evolve, as I gain an ever-better understanding of my customers, their needs, and their preferences.”

Aibel’s personal travel experience includes fifty-seven countries across six continents, with extended time living and working in Israel, Vietnam, and Belgium. His past work experience includes MassChallenge in Jerusalem, Israel and Lotus Impact in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

He worked with Ashoka in Washington D.C. and Bangalore, India on his Capstone project for the Clinton School. For his International Public Service Project, he traveled to Brussels, Belgium to work with Multimano.

“The Clinton School afforded me an excellent opportunity to simultaneously earn my master’s degree and explore through fieldwork how my interest in entrepreneurship, enthusiasm for travel, and commitment to public service might one day fit together,” Aibel said.

Clinton School graduate Fiona Sloan (’18) worked with Aibel on the website for Up Next Destinations.
