Clinton School grad Chad Williamson (’10) is director of philanthropy for Bow Tie Cause, a nonprofit organization founded by NFL linebacker and former Travel Channel host Dhani Jones. Bow Tie Cause designs and sells bow ties to raise money and awareness for nonprofit partner organizations.
After getting to know Jones when he participated in the Clinton School Speaker Series in 2009, Williamson kept in contact with the Cincinnati Bengals star. And when Jones decided to launch his nonprofit organization in May 2010, he turned to Williamson to lead the effort.
In one year since it’s launch, Bow Tie Cause has worked with roughly 20 nonprofit organizations, raising thousands of dollars for causes such as Livestrong, Stand Up for Cancer, the Ronald McDonald House and Malaria No More. Williamson says none of his work would be possible without his Clinton School experience.
“The Clinton School has meant everything to what we’ve accomplished,” Williamson says. “Since we first met at the Clinton School, it has a very special meaning to all we’ve done and will continue to do. I use my public service education everyday of every week.”
