Maricella Garcia (‘07), who earned a concurrent Juris Doctor from the UA Little Rock Bowen School of Law, was named Employee of the Year in the Little Rock City’s Manager’s Office. Garcia is the Multicultural Liaison for the City of Little Rock.

Jose Guzzardi (‘09) has joined B Lab as the organization’s Multinational Account Manager. Located in New York City, B Lab is the nonprofit behind B Corp Certification, a global movement of people using business as a force for good.

Nate Kennedy (‘14) is the Executive Director of SoMa 501, an accredited Main Street America nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing economic development, public relations, historic integrity, and quality of life for the citizens of the neighborhood.

Spencer Lucker (‘12) has joined Mayor of Detroit Mike Duggan’s workforce development team as an Industry Engagement Manager. Lucker will manage the city’s TechHire program.

Fiona Sloan (‘18) will join Doberman NYC as a business designer working with accelerator companies and startups. Sloan will complete work on her MBA from the Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in May.

Nicholas Williams (’16) has joined the litigation practice group of the Mitchell Williams law firm in Little Rock. Prior to joining the firm, Williams worked at Harvard Law School where he supported practicing faculty members and the Law School’s trial advocacy courses.

Arkansas Business has named Clinton School of Public Service graduate JD Lowery (‘09) to its 2019 40 Under 40 Class.

Judy Watts (’11) co-authored a research article, “From Screen to Screening: Entertainment and News Television Media Effects on Cancer Screening Behaviors.”

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has signed a piece of farm-to-school legislation creating a farm-to-school coordinator to the state Agriculture Department’s appropriation. The initiative was championed by graduates Emily English (‘09) and Jenna Rhodes (‘14), who are Arkansas Core Partners with the National Farm to School Network work for the Access to Healthy Foods Research Group at Arkansas Children’s Research Institute.
