Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Clinton School student Beatrice Biira of Heifer International fame is featured in a video on NBC’s new website thegrio.com.
Born in an impoverished Ugandan village, Beatrice and her family received a goat from Heifer, which allowed them to earn enough money to send Beatrice to school. She excelled and went on to graduate from Connecticut College before attending the Clinton School.
“Thinking of myself from the village, from the nine-year-old girl who really wanted to go to school,” Biira tells NBC. “That I am at a master’s level sounds like fairy tale to me.”
