She has focused her research on science, technology and environmental policy in rural areas, with particular focus on East Africa and the South and Southwestern United States.

“The Clinton School presents a unique and special curriculum,” Bowman said. “It has a dynamic and innovative approach to educating people for a career in public service. I am excited about the opportunity that working with the Clinton School presents. I know that this school is going to be an academic force, as well as a force for the public good in the coming years.”

Bowman will join the Clinton School faculty on January 1, 2012.
