Call to Serve

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Today, on both Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Iauguration eve, the Clinton School joins citizens throughout the country in taking part in the “National Day of Service.” MLK Day has long been a day of service and President-elect Barack Obama has called Americans to recognize that as he prepares to be sworn in tomorrow as our first African American president.

As the nation’s first graduate program offering a Master of Public Service degree, the Clinton School has promoted service throughout it’s more than three year existence. CLICK HERE for an article detailing the Clinton School’s service outreach.

To honor the National Day of Service, the Clinton School is joining City Year and other organizations to participate in a number of projects throughout the Central Arkansas area. After a 10:00 a.m. ceremony at the Clinton Center, volunteers will honor King’s legacy through projects including landscaping, park maintenance and painting mural designs. CLICK HERE for more.
