Center on Community Philanthropy Accepting 2024 Advancing Equity Award Applications

The Center on Community Philanthropy at the Clinton School of Public Service is excited to announce the 2024 Community Philanthropy Advancing Equity Award – in commemoration of the National Day of Racial Healing.

This opportunity is offered to nonprofits, grassroots organizations, for-profits, faith-based groups, and individuals who demonstrate innovative ways to promote equity and inclusion in their communities. This award seeks to encourage those who, through committing time and resources to expand diverse leadership within their communities, recognize the struggles specific to marginalized populations – particularly children and youth.

The Center is seeking applicants who are working to address inequalities in their communities and advance progress towards inclusion. These solutions should encourage the development of a pro-equity culture within their communities, while also making incremental, measurable, and visible progress towards racial equity.

The Advancing Equity Award will range from $5,000 – $10,000.

Joining us for the Advancing Equity Award ceremony will be Rev. Alvin Herring, Executive Director of Faith in Action, 2023 Distinguished Scholar in Racial Healing Practice.

HOW TO APPLY:

Submit a one-page letter of interest highlighting:

  • Organization’s history or individual accomplishments
  • Efforts toward prompting racial equity
  • A plan on how you will utilize the Advancing Equity Award

Applicants must submit the one-page letter of interest via email to kjbroughton@clintonschool.uasys.edu by 11:59 pm CST on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 with the email subject title “2024 AEA Application”.

All applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt of their proposal.

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity. Can any organization participate. I am currently a volunteer with a local 4-H group and would like to submit two.

The first would be for an organization field trip to the little 4-H center for training.

The second one would be a personal one for me to approach my graduate school in Washington DC because I use to work in the center under a Kellogg grant.
