The Clinton School’s Center on Community Philanthropy has just issued its annual newsletter, “The Philanthropy Circular.” Following the Center’s third annual summit on “Pathways Racial Healing and Equity in the American South,” the circular features photos and highlights from the two-day event.
Drawing nearly 150 participants from across the nation, this year’s summit commemorated President Bill Clinton’s “One America in the 21st Century” initiative on race. Key presenters included: James L. “Skip” Rutherford, Dean of the Clinton School; former Center on Community Philanthropy Scholars in Residence; Todd Shields, Director of the Blair Center on Southern Politics and Society; regional foundation leaders as well as Clinton School Alumni.
The Center on Community Philanthropy hosted the summit as a part of its efforts to engage researchers, practitioners and community philanthropy leaders to explore the impacts of structural racism and processes of healing racial divisions to improve lives. This work is funded through grants from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
