Three graduates of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service have graduated from Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XXXV. Reggie Ballard (’18), Thurman Green III (‘17), and Casey Rockwell (‘07) are among the newest members of the of the annual program from the Little Rock Regional Chamber.
Established in 1985, Leadership Greater Little Rock is aimed at developing a network of competent leaders for present and future community needs. It seeks to develop community leaders by training and informing participants on a wide array of local public policy issues and concerns. The nine-month program and its training sessions cover a full slate of topics, including government, economy, education, social services, and more.
A Little Rock native, Ballard is the Director of External Affairs for the Arkansas Department of Education. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a degree in political science and from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville with a master’s degree in teaching. Through his Capstone project, he helped create the AR501c3 Capital Campaign Conference for nonprofit professionals.
Green, native of Pine Bluff, Ark., is a Policy and Community Engagement Associate with ForwARd Arkansas. He completed his undergraduate degree at Philander Smith College and was the school’s Distinguished Young Alumni Award recipient in 2019. He he earned a Master of Public Administration from UA Little Rock. His professional background consists of higher education focusing on academic retention strategies for first generation, low-income college students.
Rockwell is a native of Searcy, Ark., and is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at UA Little Rock. She graduated from Hendrix College with a degree in education policy. She earned a juris doctor from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and a doctorate in educational leadership, also from UALR. She is the current Junior League of Little Rock President.
