The director of the Excellence in Election Administration Program at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs visited the Clinton School on Monday for a meeting with Arkansas state government officials on a training effort to encourage a high level of professionalism in election administration.
Doug Chapin of the Humphrey School said his program is developing training materials for new and experienced election officials and working to partner with states to utilize the material. Arkansas state officials attending the meeting included representatives of the Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, the state Board of Elections Commission and the Association of Arkansas Counties.
The event was facilitated by Dr. Christina Standerfer, associate professor of communication at the Clinton School, who has begun a dialogue with the Humphrey School regarding the program.
