Clinton School Impact Minute: Delta Circles

Patricia Ashanti, a 2020 graduate of the Clinton School of Public Service, used her final Capstone project to develop a toolkit for an entrepreneurial leadership forum within the nonprofit she founded and leads, Delta Circles.

Based in Helena, Arkansas, Delta Circles utilizes techniques to advance economic equity, entrepreneurship, and innovation to change the trajectory of communities in the Arkansas Delta. By recognizing the value of African American women and rural communities, Delta Circles provides solutions that impact generational change.

Delta Circles’ Entrepreneurial Leadership project engages youth and adults in the community, and develops an entrepreneurial perspective of their surroundings.

The project inspires and engages participants in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset, and provides technical support and access to capital and resources for seasoned business owners.

Since launching Delta Circles, Ashanti has impacted more than 3,000 students and nearly 100 minority-owned businesses with her lessons on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and innovation.

The Clinton School Impact Minute is a recurring segment with Little Rock Public Radio, highlighting the Clinton School’s field service impact in Arkansas.

Since 2004, Clinton School students have completed more than 600 field service projects with nearly 300 organizations in Arkansas alone, creating immediate and long-term impact for businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies across the state.
