Clinton School Impact Minute: Little Rock Sustainability Action Plan

In 2022, a team of Clinton School students – Savannah Combs, Brittany Chue, Lucy Burgess, and Lydia Adusei – partnered with the Office of Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. to help shape a better future for the city.

The team conducted city-wide surveys to capture local voices, assessing data by geographic region to capture the unique priorities and concerns of residents in every neighborhood. This research served as a primary source for the City of Little Rock’s recently adopted Sustainability Action Plan, ensuring the city’s environmental goals are rooted in community needs.

Clinton School Student Brittany Chue furthered this impact through her Capstone project, conducting interviews and researching national best practices to help Little Rock track its progress over time. She also conducted needs assessments with local organizations to ensure the plan supports the needs of multiple communities.

By combining local feedback with proven strategies, these students helped build a roadmap for a more sustainable Little Rock.

The Clinton School Impact Minute is a recurring segment with Little Rock Public Radio, highlighting the Clinton School’s field service impact.

Since 2004, Clinton School students have completed nearly 700 field service projects with more than 300 organizations in Arkansas alone, creating immediate and long-term impact for businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies across the state.
