Clinton School Impact Minute: Skills to Launch

Cameron Witt, a 2024 graduate of the Clinton School of Public Service, recently partnered with the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub as part of her final Capstone project.

The Innovation Hub is a makerspace dedicated to advancing S.T.E.A.M. education and economic development by providing a variety of workshops and training for both adults and K-12 students.

Witt developed recommendations for the Innovation Hub’s “Skills to Launch” program – which addresses the financial barriers to technical training. Witt’s recommendations will help “Skills to Launch” align with the evolving workforce development needs in Arkansas.

She conducted a needs assessment, analyzed the state’s employment trends and occupational projection data, and identified best practices in workforce development through interviews and a comprehensive review of relevant literature.

The findings from Witt’s needs assessment will inform a detailed report on the current landscape of the industries and occupations in Arkansas relevant to Innovation Hub’s “Skills to Launch” curriculum.

The Clinton School Impact Minute is a recurring segment with Little Rock Public Radio, highlighting the Clinton School’s field service impact in Arkansas.

Since 2004, Clinton School students have completed more than 600 field service projects with nearly 300 organizations in Arkansas alone, creating immediate and long-term impact for businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies across the state.
