Clinton School Launches Charter Development Process

The Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas is beginning the process of developing its first institutional charter.

The charter will serve as a foundational statement of purpose and values, capturing the institution’s unique work in preparing public service leaders across all sectors.

A committee of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners will guide the process, ensuring a comprehensive perspective. The charter will be grounded in President Clinton’s vision for the nation’s first Master of Public Service while integrating the input of key partners.

The charter will allow for the Clinton School to nimbly and effectively respond to changing contexts while staying true to its core vision and mission.

The process will include opportunities for input from across the Clinton School community through listening sessions and focus groups. Once completed, the charter will be a living document that supports strategic planning, strengthens the school’s identity, and helps chart a course for its future.

“The creation of a charter is a pivotal step for the Clinton School,” said Dean Victoria DeFrancesco Soto. “It will capture the essence of who we are and who we aspire to be, while providing a compass to guide our decisions and priorities for years to come.”
