Clinton School Online Welcomes Class of 2023

The University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service has enrolled 32 new students in Clinton School Online. Classes for the program’s fourth cohort began on Monday.

Clinton School Online utilizes asynchronous classes to provide professionals a practical skill set and knowledge base to enhance their opportunities for leadership in public service. The program allows students to take just one course at a time, each lasting eight weeks, over a period of 24 months to earn their master’s degrees.

The online program is designed for working professionals, giving them the enhanced knowledge, skills, and network needed to advance their careers without relocating or disrupting their personal lives.

“A unique component of our online program is students take just one course every eight weeks,” University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service Dean James L. “Skip” Rutherford III said. “This enables them to keep their jobs and have personal and professional flexibility without having to relocate.”

Clinton School Online builds on the success of the school’s traditional Master of Public Service (MPS) degree, which graduated its first class in 2006 and enrolled its 16th class in August 2020. The first cohort of the online degree program graduated in May 2020.

This year’s class includes students from Costa Rica and Nigeria and representatives from 11 different states: Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Teas, and Virginia.

The enrolling cohort includes multiple business owners, founders, and executive directors. The various career fields and industries represented include community relations, education, engineering, communications and marketing, banking, and nursing.
