Led by faculty member Christina Standerfer, a group of Clinton School students, faculty and staff participated in the Just Communities of Arkansas “Walk for Unity” this weekend. JCA promotes community tolerance and awareness through various programs.
Clinton School student Maggie Carroll (’13) participated in the event and wrote about it on her blog:
Good music, line-dancing, and side-walk chalk made for a fun way to socialize and meet new people. After a long list of thank-yous and a quick run through of the route, hundreds of participants in matching JCA shirts walked across the bridge and back- 1 mile for unity! After the walk, pizza and soft drinks were provided, with another opportunity for mingling.
Events like these are fun and important for promoting the larger community and bringing together people who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to interact.
