Dean Speaking to Math and Science School

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Back in the early 90s, Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford was appointed by then-Governor Clinton to the founding advisory board for the new Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences (Now the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts or ASMSA), which is located in Hot Springs. Dean Rutherford returns to ASMSA tomorrow to serve as the commencement speaker at its 16th graduation.

ASMSA, part of the University of Arkansas System, has achieved wonderful academic success since opening in 1993. Students from all across Arkansas enroll at the school for their final two years of high school and come away with opportunities that they would not have otherwise had. For example, 2007 Clinton School intern James McKinney of Forrest City, a past president of the ASMSA student body is now study economics at the Chicago School of Economics.
