Dean Skip Rutherford spoke last night at the annual holiday celebration for Health Resources of Arkansas. Health Resources provides a system of care to meet the behavioral health needs of individuals and families at several sites in North Central Arkansas. Last night’s gathering was at the Wilbur D. Mills Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Searcy.
In his remarks, Dean Rutherford said:
“In a world where more than 400 million are active on Facebook; where there are 65 million daily tweets and 2 billion video views every day on You Tube, we assume people are connected.”
“But you know the other side of the story — you see it every day: the lonely, the homeless, the desperate, the dysfunctional, the addicted, the challenged, the helpless, the hopeless. People whose dreams on occasion are just to make it through the day or through the night.
But because of you, many more are connected, communities are stronger, families are together, young people see a future. You may not win them all — but you win a lot of them. I thank you for that and together during the giving season we should celebrate that.”
