Discussing the Delta

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – A conference this weekend on the future of the Arkansas Delta region will have a decidedly Clinton School flair.

Dean Skip Rutherford and Class 4 students Todd Moore, Emily Fischer and Joanna Klak will all serve as presenters at a conference titled “The Delta: Poverty, Education and Economic Development” on Saturday at Phillips County Community College in Helena-West Helena.

The conference will bring together students and scholars from Arkansas and across the country to discuss policy solutions for one of America’s poorest regions.

Dean Rutherford will serve as the keynote speaker for the conference luncheon while Moore, Fischer and Klak will give a presentation on their efforts to help plan a visual arts center in Newport, a project they completed as part of the Clinton School’s Practicum program.
