Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford held his 2010 Elections class at the Arkansas State Capitol on Monday, the first day of filing for candidates in May’s Republican and Democratic primary elections.
Clinton School students visited with Democratic Senator Blanche Lincoln, who is running for reelection, along with one of her chief Republican challengers, Congressman John Boozman.
They also heard from veteran Capitol reporters Andrew Demillo of the Associated Press and Roby Brock of Talk Business. Brock quoted part of Lincoln’s remarks to the students on his political blog.
The students also visited with Democratic state Senator Shane Broadway, who plans to run for Lt. Governor, Republican senate candidate Curtis Coleman and Democrat Chad Causey, who is running for Congress in the state’s first district.
The elections class is an elective offering at the Clinton School.
