Ernst Named IDEA Organizing Fellow

Clinton School education policy instructor Don Ernst has been chosen as an Organizing Fellow by the Institute for Democratic Education in America (IDEA), a nonprofit that works to ensure that young people engage meaningfully with their education and gain the tools to build a just, democratic and sustainable world.

Founded last year, IDEA works with communities around the country to “reclaim and reinvent” the education system.

As an Organizing Fellow, Ernst will build relationships between youth, educators, youth workers, parents, school administrators and policymakers. He will be charged with discovering the needs and interests of each constituency and supporting the communication of those needs and interests.

As part of this work, Ernst will join other Organizing Fellows in Caguas, Puerto Rico this week (0ct. 12-15) where the group will collaborate and exchange ideas about furthering the mission of IDEA.
