Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Christy Standerfer

Today’s faculty spotlight is about Dr. Christy Standerfer, associate professor of communication, who was recently awarded a yearlong Fulbright Fellowship to teach at the University of ‘Marin Barleti’ in Tirana, Albania. She also received a grant to attend the Summer Institute for Civic Studies at Tufts University in Massachusetts.

This year, Standerfer facilitated community conversations on immigration and race relations in partnership with Just Communities of Arkansas and the Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission, respectively.

She also conducted workshops for the Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Volunteerism, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and the Association for Professional Fundraisers.

She developed and facilitated a conference titled “Building Nonprofit Collaborations to Deal with Federal Budget Cuts” for the Arkansas Coalition for Excellence.

Her scholarship included a co-authored chapter about nonprofit accountability in the book “Modern Performance Measurement Around the World: Unifying Theories and Cross-National Applications.” She also presented two papers to the Association for Public Policy Analysis Management International Conference, Moscow, Russia.
