Farmer Lecture Postponed

Friday’s Kumpuris Lecture featuring Dr. Paul Farmer, founder of Partners in Health, has been postponed to a later date.

POSTPONED: Health in Haiti: A Year after the Quake

Dr. Paul Farmer, founder of Partners in Health, will travel to Little Rock from Haiti to give an update about his work on health related issues as a result of the January 12, 2009 earthquake. While in Little Rock, he will view the exhibit on Haiti currently on display at the Clinton Presidential Center. Farmer, a professor of medical anthropology at Harvard University, is renowned for his work in Haiti and other poor countries. He is the subject of the bestselling book, “Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Could Cure the World.”

The Clinton Center exhibit, “Haiti: Building Back Better,” is open through February 6. The Kumpuris Lecture Series was established by Katherine Ann Kumpuris Trotter, Dr. Drew Kumpuris and Dr. Dean Kumpuris in honor of their mother, Kula Kumpuris, and in memory of their father, Dr. Frank Kumpuris. The series is sponsored by the Clinton School, the Clinton Foundation and AT&T.
