Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Students in the Clinton School’s third class visited the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion today to make paper Flat Stanley’s to accompany them on their International Public Service Projects this summer. Invited by First Lady Ginger Beebe, the students will take Flat, the popular children’s book character, all over the world to their project locations which include Argentina, Australia, Belize, Cameroon, China, Czech Republic, India, Kyrgyz Republic, Malawi, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Vietnam. Upon their return, Mrs. Beebe will take Flat’s experiences to schools throughout Arkansas to promote reading and global awareness among elementary students. Thanks again to Mrs. Beebe and her staff for their partnership on this project. Below are some pictures from today’s events.
