We have forwarded a fun article this morning about a Clinton School grad who is facing a difficult choice — who to cheer for in Monday’s college football national championship.
Clinton School graduate Tim Giattina (’09), a Birmingham, Ala., native who completed his undergraduate education at Notre Dame, told Sportinglifearkansas.com that he faces a win-win scenario in the game that pits his hometown favorite Crimson Tide against his alma mater, the Fighting Irish.
Giattina, who is now a lawyer living in Little Rock, said that he grew up cheering for both Alabama, his mother’s favorite team, and Notre Dame, his father’s alma mater.
“To this day if I’m going to see a Notre Dame or Alabama game, my mom will ask, ‘Well, are you going to watch Alabama?’ and my dad will ask, ‘Well, are you going to watch Notre Dame?’” Giatinna told the website. “My answer is always the same, ‘What do you think? Of course I’m going to watch.’ They still never fail to ask.”
For the record, Giattina says he will cheer for Notre Dame during the game, because his alma mater is the underdog. He also wrote a great breakdown of the game’s key match-ups for the website.
