Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – We recently heard from Clinton School grad Mike Townsend who will soon lead a trip to Ethiopia as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program. Townsend’s group will work to build simple, affordable housing for those in need there. Here’s a note from Mike and ways you can help:
– Become a member of the team: We still need more members to reach our team size of 12. We are traveling to Ethiopia from Dec 5th to the 18th; the dates were scheduled to be convenient for the holiday schedule; the cost is relatively inexpensive, for international travel, at $1,580 (plus airfare); and you will have the experience of a lifetime! – Support the team financially: While not all of you can go, some of you can help support Habitat for Humanity’s mission, to provide housing to all, by making a donation to the HFH Ethiopia Program or by supporting someone on this trip. I’d be grateful if you would consider making an online donation. For more information about this, and to make a donation, please go to http://www.habitat.org/cd/gv/participant/participant.aspx?pid=93184593.
– Follow the team: If you are unable to join or support, you can always follow us. For those that have Facebook, I have created a group page. We will be posting pictures, stories, and even videos of the trip. You can join the group at: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=92586729303.
