Grad Helps College Students Return from Egypt

Clinton School graduate Lukman Arsalan, program coordinator for the Institute for Global Studies at the University of Delaware, had a busy last week when he had to help evacuate a group of students who were studying in Egypt when the protests broke out there.

Arsalan, a native of Jordan, was the point person for organizing the return of the group of 22 students. An account of their journey on the university’s website mentions Arsalan’s efforts:

Program coordinator Lukman Arsalan served as the point person for communications with the hotels in Egypt and the University’s travel assistance and evacuation company there because he is a native speaker of Arabic.

“I don’t think he slept Friday or Saturday night because we could get through on phones much better during the night,” Griffiths says.
